Forget the Grimm brothers‘ original tale. The Ubique collective has come up with a much funnier, happier adaptation. Seated facing the audience, surrounded by their instruments (lute, violin, clarinet, theorbo, musical saw…) three musicians embody Hänsel, Gretel and the famous witch. While it‘s all about pebbles, bits of bread and a gingerbread house, what‘s most surprising about this musical tale is the way it‘s told. The lyrics are sung, chanted and the instruments change every second. A real youthful twist on a century-old fable.
